Get a 7mm it will take care of the problem and no clean up. :D I have a 223 I use for the rabbits if you were local I would love to visit.

bb's have terrible penetration. I had a bb barely go through a small rabbit at only 3 foot distance with a pumpmaster 760. On the other hand my Beeman rs2 dual barrel and my ruger airhawk blow holes out the other side of the rabbit. I've killed raccoons and skunks with both. Amazing guns! The. 22 on the Beeman helps a lot with damage and is overall 1000 times better for kills at any distance. I'd recommend one of these two rifles and .22 over. 177. Be careful if killing either a skunk or raccoon and keep your distance and keep a metal baseball bat nearby just in case the rifle doesn't do its job.
Here's an awesome kill I got on a rabbit with the ruger air hawk at about 100 feet with a badly sighted in scope and crosman destroyer hunting pellets.

Killed instantly with a dead brain shot. Great bait frozen for bear season.

i was using pointed pellets but after i used the i had left i had no choice but to use bbs. i got cleaner kills with the bbs then with the pellets. i would take one body shot strait to the heart and its down and out before it even has the chance to spray. i got the .22 i posted in the op and its too loud i shot it once and my neighbors and landlord was complaining so its out the question especially at night witch is when im gunna need to use it. its a very good gun though i toke out a crow flying by from about 90 yards. imma save up for a .22 rifle that fires pellets not actual .22 bullets. the pumpmaster isnt strong enough to kill anything youll be lucky if you could kill a small bird. its velocity is only 625 with bbs and 600 with pellets.

Hey doomie, what's your count now? Are we back on the hunt tonight? - N

weapons would be a great idea to take care of all the skunks in the area. there would be no more skunk smell ever. you could make skunk soup too.

Nasty. I hit a squirrel with a 45/70govt one time and everything from its shoulders to its hips was gone. I didn't think it would do all that. It was a 300gr bullet ;)

177 do just fine for killing but they MUST be head shots. The air rifle post that goes up to 25 cal(they actually go larger but only aftermarket) is by a company called AirForce. They cost a mini fortune but are on my short list.

OP for what you want the 22mag is vastly overkill and way too loud. The best method would be a nice accurate bolt action 22lr(savage makes some great ones for cheap) with a CCI CB short aimed at the head. Wont even hear it.

not unless the skunk or racoon wears body armors :P
but it should without actually killing them..but most likely they will learn to stay away from your property
