I'll be coming into a 8ft, 375 gallon tank in a couple of weeks, and after serious thought and (continuing) research, I've decided to go to the next level in fish keeping with the help of a Golden Crossback from a local breeder here in Thailand.

I'm currently considering a ~9 inch 'Premium High Gold Premium High Gold Cross Back' as the breeder calls it. He sent me the video below -- would really appreciate any input/opinions (positive or negative) on the fish's quality/appearance/health.

Also: Is there a real difference between 24K and regular Golden XB's, or is it pretty much just marketing lingo? Thanks!

For sure krull, which is exactly what I did today when I went to the farm's outlet at Chatuchak Aquarium Market. She was the prettiest of the bunch imho, and the most interactive as well, kept coming to the front of the tank to check me out whereas the others just glided by like stuck up preppie girls.

They're going to take care of her for another week and a half until we move into our new place and I get her 375g all prepped, really looking forward to that day.

She is beautiful @islandguy11 !!

Congratulations and all the best
Keep the updates coming!!

Thanks so much MariaS -- can't wait til she arrives at our new place; in the meantime learning as much as I can about Aros via the many informative posts in this forum, and also will soon begin work on getting her tank ready.

I have a pampered foot-long MP Kamfa Flowerhorn (psycho aggressive SOB in his own 85g), but Aros are in quite a higher level league in many respects, so I'm sure I'll have at least a few questions for you all to best prep for her arrival and starting out in her new home :).

Here's a few more pix of my new little ~9" darling, she comes certified and tagged directly from Qian Hu's Thailand farm/outlet shop at Chatuchak. The staff there seemed very informed and it was easy to see they also really loved Aros themselves.

I'm calling her a she because that was my feeling, but of course don't know -- which makes me wonder: how do y'all name your Aros if you don't usually know their gender? o_O

Great looking XB and Quian Hu is known for their quality. She seems settled already and not stressed currently .

Good luck. Post pics of your tank setup also once its ready.

Kids are good at naming. My son picked the name for our 24K Gold Asian Arowana. We named him Flash.

Thanks so much for the kind words -- if my Golden gets even nearly as colorful, beautiful and big as yours, I'd be super happy -- will try my best and learned a lot from your post and experiences with Flash -- which is a superb name as well for your fish! Will keep following your post for further guidance/inspiration.

Btw, given you're residing in India, maybe you might be able to answer a question for me along the name of lines: I was thinking to name my fish "Marici" after the Buddhist goddess of Light, Dawn & Sun. It's origins are more in Indian Buddhism than say Thai Buddhism where I live. Question is I have no idea if using this name for a pet would be offensive or distasteful to Indians (whom there are so many nice MFKr's on this forum) -- strange question maybe :) but any idea bro?
