a buddy of mine had the rrod and unflashed his xbox and got another one from Microsoft what i meant to say is is it still under Microsoft warranty

Thats what Im saying. In order to flash an xbox, you need to open it.. There's a seal when you open it. Microsoft won't give you any warranty once the seal is broken.
