I think I'm getting my sides of the pond confused--jumper. Why is it called thus? To us, a jumper is a simple dress.

And biscuits. Never got that one, either.

biscuits is the REAL word for cookies. although i think in real life they are slightly different things. jumper- a sweater?
 
I am not sure why but the word "boffin" has always amused me.
