Perch are fairly hardy. When i was young my uncle caught some from Lake Erie and kept them in a 28g cube. I think he had 6 of them to start off with. I believe three died off within the first year and the rest were around for i would say atleast 8-9 years. They all became fish ohio(yellow perch 13 inches and over). Knowing what i know now I cant believe they all live and thrived for as long as they did. I had actually completely forgotten about it until this thread. Obviously he was a schmuck and don't do what he did. But is speaks volumes for what the fish can and cannot take.
