Yellowfin tuna Mexico

Caught this yellowfin day before yesterday about 12 miles south of Puerto Penasco (Rocky point Mexico) in the northern sea of Cortez. East of the Baja.

Caught on dobyns 846 bass rod with 40lb flouro, used a live mackerel for bait up and down 80-100ft water column. Over a 130ft reef depth.

Measured 45" scale topped out at 15lbs. So unsure of weight.

Nice fish but think its a yellow tail not yellow fin tuna, the two species are often mixed up. Sounds like a fun day fishing tho and nice pics.
