All I know about sea cucumber(found this out as a kid) if you rub them they expell their stomach/intestines. You can imagine the simulated gestures kids would try, since it does resemble a lewd act.

When I was home in Hawaii a year ago, some guy filled a life raft full of sea cucumbers. He was obviously picking them to sell. The state passed a emergency ban on picking and selling of them.
Wow I didn't know that. I heard about the abalone smugglers, but sea cucumbers too? Everything at risk of being exploited.
