Yeah it is...but for only a buck and a quarter you can't go wrong...If I just used it for drinking water it will pay for itself...
Well you know how we do it out at sea...gota make it happen...
So...
I took the broken 1/4" fitting and reamed it out, then used my soldering iron to heat the inside up....just till it starting smoking and giving me a terrible headache...
then I took the 1/8" fitting that I got by mistake and screwed it into the warm one...I kept turning till she squeaked, the let it cool...
I put some teflon tape on the threads and put it all together...I got lucky cause it all held. So now the broken fitting is a reducer and I got to juice this baby up...
After about 10 gallons and oh 2 hours? I put the TDS meter on the inlet and output...
I AM a happy guy now!! and the fishes ought to like the low Ph I'll wind up with...I am starting out with a high Ph of 8.2 and 346 ppm of total desolved solids...and the results can speaK for themselves...
