Last week we had a cold snap and the water temp read below 60 for two days straight. The cat sat on top of the heater and everyone else just swam around.

Had an 800 watt titanium and put a tarp over if it got cool. That died just before cold and only backup for the night was a 400 watt. Usually stays at 72-75, warmer in summer months.
