Given that liveaquaria is the only place that carries albino sens, I decided that I'll be ordering most of my fish from them to save on shipping/costs.

Of course, they don't have peacock eels. They do have these cute little guys though, which according to their site, attain only 7". http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+836+1025&pcatid=1025

This site says 18" though http://animal.discovery.com/guides/fish/freshwater/zigzageel.html (and has a completely different color eel pictured in my opinion)

This site says over a foot
http://www.petsgallery.info/607/fish/Eel - Zig Zag Yellow Tail.html

None of the other zig zag eels look like live aquarias, are they not what they say to be, or do their colors just drastically change?

Any advice/information on them would be appreciated.

(My tank is 75 gallons, and will have a black background, PFS, driftwood and some smooth rocks, lots of easy care plants like anubias, bolbitis, subwassertang, spread apart moss balls, water lettuce, etc. Most importantly, with a built in sump underneath, it is COMPLETELY covered!

Tankmates will be 1 senegal bichir, 1 albino bichir, and that's all I have for sure, although I am considering african butterfly fish, turquoise rainbows, congo tetras, elephant nose, brown ghost knife, leopard ctenopoma, ropefish, not all of course)

Well looks like I figured it out myself it's a Half Banded Spiny Eel Macrognathus circumcinctus (I used the what spiny is eel is best for me sticky, and searched the pictures) http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/206263-half-banded-spiny-eel/ and that confirms it. Do you think they'd be safe from getting ate by the bichirs?

So they like friends, would a trio be good? :)

I have had mine for over a year. In the 125 with pbass, CK, 4 bichir, 2 TSN, jurnese, and some other stuff. It never gets messed with. Stays buried most of the time but with out, it goes where it wants and is ignored by everything. Must taste bad IDK. Everything in th tank could eat it. TSN 10", Bichir 13", Pbass 7".

You might want to keep in mind that sometimes eels can be a bit of a pain with uprooting live plants.

@Snowhunter, good to hear. My current sens only around 4", and the albino will be around 4-6." And the purchase size for them is 4-6" as well.

and @fook- Well that's why pretty much all the plants will be tied to the driftwood/rocks (anubias and bolbitis), or floating (water lettuce and duck weed), nothing rooted, or you can just shove somewhere and it will grow (subwassertang and moss balls) they are too difficult to care for in my opinion. So there should be no worries with them up rooting the plants from the substrate :)

So I am correct they have the Macrognathus circumcinctus, not the Mastacembelus pancalus? I wrote them asking, interested to see what they say. :)
