Thanks Pacu mom, I have read all of Mike's threads and I have deep respect for what he has done! This tank will be built in a building I recently purchased. I only have one tank at home. My better half doesn't think I need anymore tanks at home. hahaha

Pretty sure arapaimag did not pass away, but don't think he is as active as he used to be. The guy that passed away was in FL and building a monster tank that did not get completed I believe.

60'x15'x10' comes to 66,150 gal nominally.

There are many ways to do it. Each comes with pros and cons that only you can weigh on your scale.

I'd suggest giving Jack Broyl at Dolphin Fiberglass in Homestead FL a call and discussing this with him. They are the guys that build large fiberglass tanks with acrylic windows, unlimited gallonage. They built my two 4500 gal but have done 25,000 gal fish tanks and larger too. They can keep adding sections and make it any length you want.

I note you prefer full acrylic. That's the best if you are made of money. If you wanted a quote from a reputable company in the states, I can give you their number. It'll be astronomic but you know it.

Concrete tanks I've been told by professionals will all start leaking in a year or so as the foundation and the walls are always settling. One would need to keep resealing them or incorporate a rubber liner or some such membrane within the concrete bowl.

Rich people do have swimming pools upstairs sometimes, so they can be made waterproof but I think only with a membrane embedded. Most swimming pools are in-ground so no need to worry about micro-cracks and small leaks.

I wonder what wednesday13 and A arapaimag would say.

It'll be easier if you make 60' the width and 15' glassed.

Thanks Viktor.. I would want full acrylic but it seems that the tank will be too heavy for our streets/roads to handle. Got quoted at 100+ tons of acrylic for something this size. I spoke to Jack about 2 years back and he seems like a very nice fella But I will see what my engineers have to say first before pulling the trigger.
