Looks to be a platinum alligator gar. The lowest I’ve seen for a baby was $1,500 so at that size who knows man.

personally unless the pond is enclosed I would keep it indoors. Too many variables outside, my house rental company hired a painting company and I came home to a layer of paint in my pond.

I just would risk it personally unless it was enclosed.

There’s nothing wrong with an outdoor pond, relives an actual habitat of wild gars as well.

Here are my two. I’m pretty positive they are FL. I’m also assuming that I have a male and female. I’ve come to this conclusion because one is smaller and much darker than the other and the first time they were introduced to each other they kept rubbing and twisting around each other then for a solid 5 minutes they were swimming nose to tail in circles (his nose to her tail and her nose to his tail). It was very interesting to watch.

These are my 2 gars, posted one of em when they were young some time ago when it still had its stripe and we agreed its probably florida gar

yesterday, someone came by to my house to adopt an asian arowana and told me one of the is actually true spotted gar, which i kinda doubt so cause i got both of them at 5 singapore dollars each(about 2 to 3 usd) now that they are grown i would like to seek the opinions from experienced gar keepers :) they are at 10 and 11 inch.

You need to get a photo of each gar fully side on to really be able to tell. IMO you won’t necessarily be able to tell by coloration at this size as they can both look the same.

Florida gar. Only JZX in Singapore has true spotted gars but I believe they haven't gotten small ones in over a year.
