The stiphodon didn't fair well when I put them in. Had one survive despite treating the whole tank. The survivor went down to skin and bones and recovered well. it is now a fastidious grazer and working hard on algae but definitely needs help.

As it is season here for new imports, I will be trawling stores to see if I can find what I am looking for. Even perhaps find something unexpected.

The paludarium has been doing really well lately and has become really overgrown. I need to get in there and do a proper trim.
This is as a result of finally getting fertilizer into the small pockets of substrate and occasional additions of liquid fertilizer.

I turned off the circulation pump a few times over the past 2 weeks as I condition the fish with BBS. I forgot to turn the pump back on a few times. Today I noticed a sudden crash in the crypts and many have melted or started melting. I hope they grow back. If they don't I have quite a few back ups in other tanks. It is nuts how quickly they do this.

Got some new bucephalandra. All this was only US$11 with shipping.

Finally got some time to get sick into the stream bank jungle. Took over an hour to clear it.
I went really hard. When I post after pics you can notice some plants under the mass of foliage were struggling.

Sick as mate! Looking sweet! What are those fish in the vase tank? I think I can see some endlers but the other ones look awesome! Your vase tank is way better then mine, At least in the water section. Mine has a monster syngonium growing out of the top. I'll have to add a pic next time I'm at my house.

Below water the anubius also had the same fate. They were starting to protrude too far out from the bank pushing the fish against the glass.

Full tank shot
The fish are more spread out now and seem a little more content. It's also a good deal brighter.

Here’s some pics of it.

So I recently bought 2 smaller chain loaches to add to the group. That was about 6 weeks ago. right after adding them they were really shy and quite easy to spot.
Last night staring at the tank I try to count the chain loaches, which is akin to keeping 3 dogs in a bathtub. I should have 9 maybe 10 if I am lucky. I counted twioce and got 12 the first time and 13 the second time.
So I look for the new guys and can't really spot them.
It was them I realized 4 or 5 small loaches. Way smaller than the rest. I have bred the dwarf chain loaches. There are 2 that are about an inch. And I have never bought one that small. I remember seeing them digging under some rocks a while back and thought it was odd behavior. And the big, I assume females, were not looking as belly rounded.
Well now I know why. I was so excited.
They are hard to tell in the pics as they never stop darting.

This is the spot they dug under the rockwork.

The little blur under the anubius in the centre is one of the smallest loaches.

2 of the smallest loaches, the 2 smaller new loaches and the smallest full grown male, I assume, loach.

The smallest baby loach bottom left. That a small danio for scale.

And a bonus pic. Was at the LFS today and saw the smallest tire track eel I have ever seen. Those are rams in the tank with it.
