Ok, so currently the pond is quite stable at ph 7.4, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite although the nitrates are still high at anywhere between 40 and 80.
A water change today should help bring them down some.
The water has remained quite cloudy although I am unsure if that is due to increased light from not having the decked area or the shear number of pure pond bombs I have put in to get the filter up to speed.
Either way I have added another decked area and the cloudiness is definitely reducing.
The fish also seem more settled with the extra shade.
Talking of which…….. the remaining occupants over 12” are:-
Tiger shovelnose rescue- 20”
Black shark - 26”
Lima shovelnose - 18”
Marmoratus cat - 24”
Hemibagrus Variegatus - 18”
Three gibiceps plecs.
So any plan to add smaller tank mates will mean not too small!
I will be adding my 20” arrowana at some point, my 6 lemon barbs.
Suffice to say that I am keeping in the hobby and keeping the pond going. Although may add a few other of my smaller monsters from six foot tanks. To move smaller fish into six foot tanks.

Small update.
The arrowana , now approaching 2ft is in the pond along with the now 12” lemon barbs.
Seven eight inch koi joined them along with a six inch ham pals barb and a seven inch silver distichodus.
Also in there are now both Asian redtail cats, my granulatus cat and my 12” oxydoras Niger.
Things have been harmonious for three months so obviously now I have opted someone will get eaten.
The huge black shark hates the marmoratus and is the only fish he chases.
I added also a now 8” black shark and the two seem to be getting on really well!

How did you deal with the plasticizers in rhe pool? Did you treat it with something first, or maybe heavy chemical filter media? Or did you just set it up and go? I’m curious because I’m going to do something similar for our turtle and bullheads.

I am not quite following this either. Every plastic matter has small-molecules still in it, including plasticizers, which can leach into water.

The most infamous is bisphenol A.

Plasticizers can be toxic to aquatic animals. Some types of plastic contain a lot. If the pond is doing fine, then that’s obviously not the problem. I was just wondering if the op had done anything about it and if the op did something , what?

So, have added a new “cave network” towards the back of the pond as Wally and Jelly have upgraded from their shared 390l.

Both now at around 9-10” they seem to get on well but the 390 is in the warmer level of the fish house so I need the tank for “warmer water” communities moving up from what will be the colder/ more temperate level of the fish house which will contain unheated tanks this winter.
All being well they will get on with the others in the pond and behave themselves and not eat their neighbours.
