That's looking nice mate. Are you doing black sealing coat, or blue, or pink with yellow zig-zags?
Black. I have some marine blue pigment I thought about using, but I really like my other tank with black background. It hides the algae fairly well, and provides good contrast for the fish without being this big blue beacon in the middle of the room.

Going to get a few yards of Fiberglass mat today. Girlfriend is out of town tomorrow so I should be able to put lots of time in. I also have a project on the go for a customer that needs to be finished by friday, so I won't get as much done as I wanted to, but I can use the couple hundred bucks from the other project to buy materials for my stand.

The GF is going to buy me a compound miter saw for my birthday next week, because she figures I'll build her furniture with it
... but first and foremost I need to build the stand for this, along with the 180gl holding tank for underneath the stand.

Never got more mat today, but I had some heavy duty woven roving on one of my shelves, so I used that to do 80% or so of the bottom of the tank this evening. I'll get more chopped mat tomorrow and glass the remainder, then work on either rolling or spraying on some gelcoat!

OK, so I dug up my undercoating gun tonight, and tried it out with some gelcoat. It lays it on THICK, and textured, which is OK by me, it's hard to judge when you've over-applied though. I used about 1500ml of gelcoat tonight to cover one end, and the whole window frame, and the whole top frame. I'm guessing it'll take about a liter to do the back, and another 1500ml to do the bottom. I've got a bit of a problem because I didn't add air dry wax to the stuff I sprayed tonight - I figured it would get recoated, but it's so thick it won't need any recoating. I'll have to spray it down with PVA when I'm done, let it cure, and then THOROUGHLY wash everything with soapy water, which will be a serious pain. Oh well. Better that I guess than having to sand and recoat!

I'm diggin the build. Lovin' the whole corner window deal. Haven't seen to many builds other than my own using multiple viewing windows. It'll be cool to see it done.
