Needs more pics! Lol, is it just me or does it seem like since I started my build about 6 months ago it seems like everyone has a monster tank build now. It's really cool though. The diy section of this site is probably my favorite section now. That and the catfish section. Good luck. Love the design. Should have went bigger though! lol, jk
Well obviously I should have gone bigger. duh. :p you inspired us all Necro, we all want 4k tanks ;). I'm in a rental house, and I could move at any moment - actively looking for a career change, so I have to be prepared to move in a hurry. This unit will fit through my doorways, so I can take it with me! If I buy a house in a new location, you can bet I'll be building something larger within a year of settling in.

Sounds good to me. Still monster though. There is an explosion of 500+ gal tank builds lol. Good luck to everyone. I just hope that mine will come out good in the end. Keeping a close eye on this and everyone else's builds! MFK rocks!!!

LOL, well yeah I've noticed the monster trend lately, and I'm loving it. Usually the DIY forum is where I live, so when there's lots of big builds going on, there's lots of activity that's interesting. This build for me is a bit of a stepping stone. I jumped into this hobby 2 years ago with my 200gal DIY tank. Since then I've built more tanks for myself, and even for some paying customers. Now I gotta upgrade. Sooner or later I'll need something even bigger... hopefully the lessons I learn here will make my eventual 1k+ monster tank all it can be. :p

Pft. Dude I knew it was too small before I ever started building it :p It'll be a nice looking growout tank though when I move to a bigger place :headbang2

That and like I said, I want to try out a number of ideas with this tank. Ideas for saving power, build costs, blah blah blah. Hopefully I can refine them and port them over to future builds.

Alright, few more pics tonight, mostly just detail work. I dunno how much of it is apparent to anyone but me. I'm anxiously waiting for the day that I can gelcoat the whole thing so it's not multicolored anymore.

I'm about 90% done fiberglassing the seams, and I've decided to fiberglass the whole bottom for durability, but that shouldn't take much time, just lots of materials.
