Lol, I'm going to respond to what I can understand. But I would never release a non native fish, I'll have you know. I released an Australian native, which is native to the local river anyways.

My father was one of the the 2 workers who looked after Balwdin Swamp in bundaberg, it is a big wetland area, I learnt what he taught me, and about the wetlands and waterways and how to look after it.

As for my education, I've worked a few jobs where we maintain the local waterways, keep them healthy, etc. One was a hortiultural traineeship where we maintained the local creek, maknig sure it flows right, make sure the banks don't collapse. I know how waterways work. I've obtained cert II in both land management/conservation, and horticulture.

Also, I got the subject award in year 12 for agricultural science and I also got a industry based award for my time in ag science. This has taught me about run off and waterways and their importance. I know how to read the land, about waterways, about conservation and creeks etc.

No, I may not know as much about fish as you as of yet. But I warrant I can read the land and waterways better than you. So believe me when I say this fish is secure in this pond.

Also, this pond, I have explained already, that the only difference between it and a pond in your backyard is that it's in a public park, I mean it's made out of concrete for pete's sake. It's not like I went down to a local stream or anythnig and released a fish. It's a freaking pond, in a park, and the lay of the land is virtually flat. There is a ****load of houses between it and the closest waterway. I can understand if youse called me an idiot if I released it directly into a waterway. But this is a freaking pond about 6 metres in length in a subruban park.

does it have raised banks? generalyy parks are there because they cant build houses ofwhich oine reason COULD be its prone to flooding. im sorry but your idea of a native fish is a fish of the same species yet you may onsider a silver perch native but releasing it in the brissy rever isnt good ads the brissy river is not home to silvers untuil restockign programs were introduced. your fish is genetically inappropirate to be releaed its simple fact. and trust me there are some place where spot floods occur once every 20 years and considering fish lkiver for 15 years average theres a possibility

No, no raised banks. What about the brisbane river? I live in Bundy not birsbane, our local river is the Burnett. I know about flooding mate, I'm not as dumb as you may think. The Burnett river hasn't flooded in Bundy in decades, and by the time the water reached the pond, one silver perch will be the least of my worries, if the perch survived and got to the river, my end of the river is saltwater, this would kill the perch, and there is no way the perch could get to the freshwater part, it's blocked off by a barrage. Also that much excess rain water would no doubt kill the perch anyways. If it survives all this and somehow winds up at sandy hook. I think it'd deserve to live, lol.

Anyway...

I think my eel is a longfin eel. Thats just looking at there fins though haha. It's got a rather hig dorsal fin, about half as high as the body, and the anal fin is the same.

I was looking at him a minute ago with a little LED light. He is swimming around near the top and i'm a little worried he may try to do a kamakaze :(.
