Dingo released a fish into a body of water that to his knowledge, cant overflow and if it did it would not overflow into any rivers. Amehal0 has tilly's in a pond that to his knowledge cant overflow to any rivers because his drainage is stuffed, i have seen his setups and i agree that the fish would have to be able to jump or fly to get to any river, while dodging traffic. Since you both did illegal activities you guys pretty much cross each other out, i mean your arguing over somthing that the other person has done, yet both of you have done something illegal.

I do not agree with either of you. Releasing "Captive fish" into the wild can cause alot of damage to the enviroment and anything that lives there, even if that body of water was "dammed" off so it can not reach rivers/creeks, it would still cause havoc that would not naturally be there.

As for Amehal0 keeping tilarpia, it is illegal to keep them by law, any fish caught from the wild must be killed and rolled up the bank and buried, your not even aloud to keep the fillets from the fish to take home. But since this was his first fish and it has sentimental value and is in a pond in an enclosed room with no drainage and there is no possible way it can escape to the wild and cause havoc, i dont think it is a big concern. Even though it was illegal in the first place.

hmm okay so somewone whos doen environmental studies and someone whos done aquacultural studies both telling u it was stupid means nothing that makes sense.
by the way its 4 sheets of paper!!. im also studying an even higher qualification. ive done hands on work in multiple aquacultural industries yet youve done none. fact is that your fish would be so highly removed from loacl populations if there are any of that species that ud be stuffing up local populations if any creating genetically weaker fish.

last time i checkled an ill informed perosn cannot make a calculated decision they can only make a calulated decision of what they know. lets jsut introduce diseases and pest fish into our water ways. you know australias aquacultural industries is the most disease free and yet the ornamental side istn and that soemone importing a fish not quarantined properly which then through multiple fish reaches yours and you introduce it in a water way. ohh yeh thats great its cause of people such as ur self that we cant keep exotic predators. also learn how to keep fish responsibly if you cant keep dont buy it.

Mate, you don't know what education I've got. You know what thought thought? I think you are the "ill informed" person. Time and time again you prove to me how uneducated you reallly are. Plus, I did not relaese this fish into a natural waterway. It was a man made one, and my decision was calculated. Just because something is not done by the book, does not mean it is a stupid move and just because you done a course in aquaculture doesn't mean everyone else suddenly knows nothing on the subject. hey dingoofus id hardly call myself an expert on environmental impact statements but i know how to assess flood possibilties stock escape and sotck escape prevention. i know there is a chance of flooding for ****s sake i live in qld! however soncidering i live just off sandgate road about 3km ffrom the local creek my fish would have to go up a hill odnw a hill up a hill then down 50 metres of steps then a 10 metre rock hill thing to get to the creek or travel 10km along flat terrain to get to the local saltwater creek. i also have concrete lifts in the gorund to prevent stock escape all my stormwater pipes do not work. and plus there with in a pond. so i consider the chance of it flooding little. where as there is a reasone all the water has gathered in the local pond because its a natrual low. all my fish are in above ground structures. also i have placeto accomadate everyone of my purchases. so if my fish is a bit to agro it can go in the big 4500 litre pond and it will be in there with sartoga, silver perch sooty grunters khaki grunters eels and lots of agro fish. plenty of space. im sorry but you cant justify stupidity. calling me names isnt gonna help u neither. i know i aitn a kow it all. i just consider my self knowledgeable in basic chemistry and aquacultural principals. i know **** all about training monkeys how to dance, treating cancer, working with wood, electonics(i wrelly wish i knew bout electronics) and much much more. theres a reason i go on forums to share what ive leanrt and to learn. iev learnt that we cant keep illegals because of the release of different fish.im happy there illegal and hard to get and expensive it stops peopel liek you releasing snakeheads pirhana gars rtcs datnoids pikes, rays, shovelnose catfish into the wild. i could imagine you with a snakehead

Hang on, I can't read all this yet, I have to buy some really exotic fish so I can release them into baldwin swamp later on.... after I release them into the waterways, maybe you can catch them and keep them aye?

eric a completly agree lol on the jungle perch. to give you a perspective of my naivity i put it in a 6x6" 2' tall hex tank thinking it ownt get too big now its nearly 1'.

Hope it's not in the same tank
