Home depot & lowes have them for drip irrigation and if you don't use the regular it will blow the drip regulator off the hose. Drip regulators are calibrated at a set water pressure, like 25 psi. If you put a pressure gauge after the filter you can tell when to change the cartridge.
yup:)

also check out the drip irrigation section of www.rainbird.com.

my system is very simple. I stole the idea from Repair....his is the stuff!

how often will you have to replace the carbon filters?

on the package it said they are good for drinking water for 3 months. I'll probably just throw a new one in every month or so....they're fairly cheap

The emiters are calibrated for any pressure between 15 to 50 psi. I like to run 20-25 psi because at 45psi I have had an emitter blow off of the line.

You can't put a gauge after the filter to know when to change it...... since you are removing chlorine you have to replace it when it can no longer remove the chlorine 100%

My experiance is that the filter will need to be replaced at around 5000 gal.

When pressure goes down you replace the filter, works for clorine too, just have to get an idea of the pressure drop in relation to clorine removal. Test and chart for 6 months and you should have a handle on it. Or just test and change.

I might make an excel spreadsheet on the levels ...just test every few days. That should give everyone a baseline of what to expect.

Good idea

Good deal. By the way do you know what the chlorine (or is it chloramine) level of your tap water is (for a base line) ?
