Not only that a little one will hide constantly and they are slow growers. Also 5 will not gaurantee they will breed for you. But they are very cool plecos espicially as adults.

Breeding these plecos takes a lot of dedication and experience and often come with a high cost.
It is why we don't see them very often for sale. They are people already breeding L114 and L600 and I hope someone soon can start breeding the L25s 7 Pointers.

There are two people in USA with large breeding projects on L25 and LDA105. . I will suggest to start with something more easier and cheaper to breed for beginners, such as L199 and L129 and others that come to mind at a much lower cost.

I do not sell single plecos for display only.

People should appreciate what Saul (Unungy) is trying to do for these fish and the pleco hobby.

Exactly. What use is one fish?

Well last time I checked it is ok to be a hobbyist. I know way more people that buy fish and plecos to have them and admire them, not for some giant breeding program? To each his own though.

I wouldn't call it a giant project, 5 plecos is a nice group to have as well.
I'm sure you'll find one somewhere, however I try to encourage people to engage in breeding projects so we can see more and more of these RARE plecos made available to the public at better prices and in much numbers.

It is possible just takes time, money and dedication, wish you all luck in your search.

He is right about the dedication I tried to breed an L-114 and had him in a 125 but he kept killing females at night so he is alone in an 85 with a colony of peach faced geos that he ignores. The big pseuda cactus plecos hate them for their price love them for their cool looks. LOL

A friend of mine had a single zebra pleco that she had for over a decade. Apparently she got it when prices were very low, and the prices leapt up when the ban went into effect. She kept the single zebra because she liked the fish and couldn't afford to buy more. There is nothing wrong with keeping a solitary specimen, and anyone who says she should have sold her fish to a breeder would be a hypocrite if they keep any fish without breeding them, or trying to.

Besides, a lot of people do want display fish. And one day they might opt to sell their large adult fish and then awesome if the fish goes to a breeder. But I don't think we should look down on hobbyists who can't afford or want to try and breed their fish.

Right on! Besides if I spent that much on a group of fish I would be divorced, which would cost way more than those 5 plecos

I would go with Saul- get a bunch of chicago folks who have been looking for some L025s, and do a group buy. I do want to see more of those cool guys around here anyhow.

I'm considering getting rid of all of my plecs keep the L134s and go full L264 and dedicate my time with those sultans. Ha talk about serious dedication.
