Your English is fine. Its the common names that make a mess of things. In the US, fish have so many different common names from region to region that it can get confusing for even the most common fish at times.Sorry, in French, snappers are called "red carps"... I need to improve my English...
Lutjanus jocu is always found in saltwater, sometimes in low rate salted water. Same for Lutjanus griseus.

We have L. griseus here, we call them mangrove snapper but some people also call them black snapper which is the name for another species all together as well. Real confusing when it comes to size and bag limits! Our mangroves are not nearly as pretty yours however.
If you dont mind me asking. What do you do? What made you move there? The wife (who is originally from South America) and I have been kicking around the idea of moving somewhere down there.
