I've seen a similar setup on a koi pond. The Ultima is better with one pump because it cannot handle that much flow/pressure. I've seen the inside laterals broken letting the media out into the pond. With two pumps and a check valve, the stronger pump will try to close the check valve on the weaker causing it to stall. This is because of the back pressure from the filter and uneven head loss on the two pumps. If you decide to use two pumps you should use clear check valves so you can balance it with the ball valve.

Well On a positive note... when your away as long as I have been... you get to see fantastic builds like this when you get back, and to see so much of it completed is great! Keep up the great work and don't let it get to you!
Welcome back :)

With all these leaks i would be concerned about long therm? 1 thing is to get it to hold water now, but you will never know when the **** hits the fan again ? or? :) Did you fiberglass the whole tank inside before starting with the layers? Really looking forward for this to come all together! Insane build!
