I've got an 8 inch redtail catfish now.. the problem is whenever i wanna hand feed him with food, he would swim away or try to avoid it.. any suggestions on how i can hand feed him? :)
Mine doesn't like to eat from my hand yet either. I think you should try to starve him for a day or two and try to feed him on the days in between.

Hey guys... Just an update on my redtail catfish,....He is not eating anything for the past two days... but he seems to be active.. He swims up and down in the tank.. change the water regularly. I feed him pellets everyday and now whenever he sees the pellets he will go back to his hiding place?... any suggestions??

my friend has a 12" RTC and he saw a bichir he wanted at the LFS... it was about 7-7.5"... Do you guys think the bichir will survive?
And just curious, is there like a rule to how big tankmates of RTC should be? Length and width wise...

thnaks :)

NO. Not even remotely feasible, lol. If it can fit into the RTC's mouth, it will be eaten at some point. And growth rates need to be taken into account.

I had my 12" TSN along with 3 4-5" tiger oscars. My TSN ate 2 of the oscars. Since having just the 1 my oscar has been nipping at my TSN. Is this normal and should I get ride of the oscar.

Hey guys, great site and awesome discussions, My 3" RTC recently ate a couple pebbles(3) off the bottem of my tank.. He managed to puke 1 of them out but still has 2 in there.. its been 3 days now and I'm kinda getting worried. Any advice or tricks i can do to make him upchuck the rest before he starves??
