Hi VL,

Do you think its leaking in the same area you just repaired, or some where else?

As another possible option, what about doing a layer of the cement board with PA like you did on your 1500 build? That seemed to work out very well for you on that build; enough so that it convinced me to use a layer of cement board if I do another build or major repair overhaul on my 3000 gal. tank.

FWIW, (and I don't know if this translates into liquid rubber over PA), but I have found that silicone 1 stuck great to PA when dry, only to peel off in strips and float around my tank after it was under water for a while. It was not the PA either, the silicone just cleanly peeled away from the PA after being under water. If you do go this route, maybe do a test and soak a sample Zavlar on pond armor connection under water for a while???

Hang in there, you are making foreward progress, its just a matter of time.

Also, I like your idea to build a temp "pond" to move your fish and get the old house sale on the way. This way you won't be pressured to finish, but be able to take the time to do things the right way.

It is getting to be fall you might be able to pick up an intex pool cheap and out a liner in that.

As for your leaking that really sucks. I am finally closing on a house and looking to build some custom tanks that fits right and from all the research I have done over the last 2 years your 1500 gallon build was the best success story I could find using anything other then epoxy. I know it will stink up the house pretty bad but maybe taking off the PA and doubling the ply with epoxy coating and epoxy in between the sheets would be the best way to go. I have seen a lot more long term success with epoxy from other tank builders then I have ever seen or heard form PA or LR.

Simple what your next move is.... git-r-done son!!!! LOL

Temp Setup is the way to go for now... but as far as the main build goes... Personally I'd stiffen up the "loose" spot and throw some more PA at it... If it feels at all loose now... imagine what is happening under the pressure of water

Yeah that's what pisses me off.. Nothing appears to be loose at all.

Pretty sure though now that the bondo is wet under the PA that is might be crumbling? If I remember right bondo doesn't do well in water.

Another huge design flaw perhaps.
Bondo seemed to be the flaw in my tank build as well. It began leaking after a 1 1/2 years. The more I dug into it, it looked like the Bondo had failed underneath the Sweetwater paint. I am now relining the tank with 1/2" plywood and then covering all seams with epoxy resin and fiberglass matt and then Sweetwater paint over it all.

as i have said liquid rubber saved my 300 build, the tank is still running even after being moved out of the basement and into a new house.
i did notice that liquid rubber didn't bond all that well to pond armor. where this really showed was around my glass because i was scared to get to close with the sander. i noticed a few bubbles when i cut them out the rubber would peal back to the sanded parts with ease, so i sanded properly and it has held thus far but still only a year.
another thing is that liquid rubber never really harden like if i lean something against it in my tank u can see the imprint it makes in it when moved, it doesn't push through but dose leave a imprint. it sucked taking my nice shinny black tank that i paid good money for and having to sand and ruff it all up.
with that being said i am going to use it for my next build but i am going to tile the inside as well. on another forum a guy did a 2000 gallon with liquid rubber and used it to set his tiles and seal in his acrylic window.
i guess liquid rubber is a Canadian thing. i call their office and the guy there told me they had a display tank that had been running for a couple years.

what ever you decide i hope you get this huge tank running it is inspirational
