Well, just to keep it updated, Mr.T is doing fine, scratches almost gone, seems to be healing without any problem.
Curious and happy as always.
Since I moved the pump to hanging free in the water, it looks like he's more easily getting around chasing smaller fish.
Wonder how many he really catches, since there's still a lot of small fish and I've never added more for the last 3 weeks or so.
Surprisingly, the Tilapia are surviving, getting bigger with plenty of space and food.

So for now, all looking good to continue on his bigger house.

Love the Arapaimas, could they go together with other large catfish such as Wels, Goonch, Redtails, and even other monsters like Snakeheads??? I haven't started my setups yet but I'm looking to start a huge pond and a 75 gallon tank setup and I'm trying to see how many of my favorites I can put together and which ones would be better for the pond and which would be better for the tank...Any suggestions?

What size will your pond be? 75 Gallon is not going to do it for even a young arapaima.
I am almost finished with my pond for Mr.T, he is in a 8x8ft temporary pond now, but can't wait to get him out. He measures about 3.5 ft now. It's too crammed for him to really move around and grow.
RTC should do fine, other large cats as well, snakeheads? Not sure for those. Eventually the arapaima will outgrow them all to more than double the next largest fish if your pond is big enough.

After reading through the whole thread, I can tell you if your truely interested in keep Arapimas or other costly
creatures then maybe you should consider that Arapimas taste fanastic and sell for as much if not more than Tuna
does here in the USA. Harvesting sizes are around 40 to 48 inches. Now I'm sure that some of the high price paid
for these fish comes inpart from them being imported from South America and being shipped fresh killed as apposed
to frozen.

Well I'm thinking of a 75-150 gallon tank for starting my fish young then transporting to a 10x8 or larger pond no less than 1200 gallons at least. I haven't started yet right now I'm just looking for supplies and the starter tank. But I have a huge list of monster fish I want, I'm just trying to get a feel for what can go together and what is gonna have to limited to just the pond or just the tank. My area makes it difficult to find certain fish but I know I'm looking at some major $$ for it and I would most likely have to have them shipped to me. That's why I'm trying to get to know everyone on here and hopefully make some connections to some breeders.

I have kept mine with Wallago leerii (Although the Wallago did eat one of them at 33"), Red tails, Nigers, Shovelnose, Planiceps etc.

Never owned a wels but they are not tropical and really would not do well in a tropical set up anyway.

10x8 or larger....? Well the arapaima easily gets to 10 feet by itself. So on the safe minimum side I'd say 25 feet x 20 feet or better not start with it

Lol oops I didn't mean to say that for arapaima lol...if I wasn't getting one of them, maybe 10feet but yes your right I would want plenty of room for any fish I get, especially if I get an arapaima...but how will they do if started off as fry (just one or two) in a large starter tank also with young catfish, arowanna, snakeheads, hard, ect.? If I got them all together as young under 8"inches they would grow together and be fine...they are also all tropical, so the temps wouldn't have to be changed, right?...I also wanted a white sturgeon but they need cooler temps so I highly doubt that could go with any of the others I want. LOL.
