so this is the new kind of aro that we all know for over 5 years! I think they just have the scientific name now!
They just official classify it as a new species, with scientific name... Just like RTG was once thought hybrid back in the 90's

Interesting... I read up somewhere that Nami is somewhere in Malaysia. So what's up with that?
They are different. One is from Malay and one is from Myanmar. They both have snakeskin but I notice that Batik develop more gold and have something like a 5th level shine of an HBRTG.
There's a possibilty that some Malaysian farm got a hold of Nami (Myanmar) green aro, and the rest assumed that it's Nami (Malaysian). Nami or Batik could be the one and only Myanmar green, or scribble arowana now...

The Nami "Greens" are from a lake near a small town called Nami. The lake is part of the Muda Lake(Malaysia). Scleropges inscriptus is found in the Tanintharyi river basin(Myanmar). I don't think they consider the Batik(Scleropages inscriptus) as a Green Aro. Since it's a separate species. There's a possiblity that Nami "Green" Aro is the same species as the Batik but dfferent variant. We need more scientist doing studies. This is an interesting discussion tho. A lot of possiblities.

If you read the law it does not obviously mention this species since not yet described, nor does it list Myanmar as a country of origin for the species. The only species technically banned are S. formosus. Sounds like a loophole to me for those who are willing to take the chance and make the investment.

Not a loophole since all those scientific names are not recognized by everyone.
