Mine is 2.5 years old and is 50 cm. So given the right conditions they will grow pretty darn quick.

Is there any way to tell there age? I got mine through a trade and lost old owners info, and it's already 8 inches or so

8 inches at a guess i would say 8 to 10 months.

tank is reef ready, made by marineland not sure if they are still in business. 52x22x24. GG was in a 96x30x30 but was losing a battle with a 24 inch silver arowanna.

Definitely the best looking red tail I've ever seen IMO.
