Lazy Egon would be flipping the switch to backwash or pay someone to come maintain the tank. Lol. You can fly me down anytime and I'll take care of everything.

LOL working smarter not harder has always been my policy. I’m going to try to put them in the wash but if I can find them for $4 each I will just trash the old ones. I have the larger, I think 7”, socks. Where do you buy yours?

Pull the pump plug, crank the handle a couple of times, plug the pump back in. I think I have expended more effort writing this post than I do every couple of weeks maintaining my mechanical filter! I know for sure I have spent more time on this post that I do on maintaining my mechanical filter!

I get them from McMaster. In the past I've ordered the 7x16" socks for about $4. As of today it looks like they're about $5.30. Still a good price and they ship fast. Your order will be boxed up before you even hit submit :)

I've had my current 10 micron socks for a little over a year. Looks like it's about time to order new ones. I get them in batches of 6-8 socks and keep washing them. I'll never go back to floss or filter pads!

I go through 5 socks each week well on my 120 a little longer. I keep washing them. how long do your socks last on your tank?

Right on! 25 will last me 2 years if I throw them away after one use! Thanks.
