They can, but they'll die eventually. They're not meant to be submerged. Expect it to live a few months, and then you'll have to go get another one. Fish generally ignore them, I've heard of Silver Dollars tearing them up, but most people's fish take a taste test and then leave it alone. They're poisonous, so I'd imagine its not good eating. Won't hurt your fish if they do take a chomp though.

It depends, if the roots are long enough and the leaves are out of the water it will, but it needs to grow big enough with the leaves above water first! They do look great submerged, I will say that.

They are only fatal to mammals in large amounts. Their toxin is designed to keep insects off and is lethal to insects.
PS F1 Ill post an update later of my pothos. Boy have they grown in the month ive had them. Keepin nitrates low too.

One of my 4 line pims knocked it in the tank. I had it on wall of the sump so its leaves were out of the waterThat's because its fully submerged man! So their not even in the tank and their dead? I've left pothos out of the water and in no substrate just air, and they took weeks to die, you got a bad plant, I would ask for an Exchange for a good, healthy plant!
Just did a quick search online, this site looks decent and the plants look healthy, and are cheap! 2.50euros!
