Yeah mate, they're an Australian native. Have you ever kept any Aus natives before?
I do keep a mangrove jack. But they're more or less like Dovii's. If they're in a tank of 10,000 gallons or less, they have to be solitary. Psychopathic things.
I don't really see a lot of freshwater Aussie fish in North America. The only ones I can think of that I have now or had in the past are:

Melanotaenia fluviatilis none now
Maccullochella peelii one at present but possibly suffered air bladder problems in shipping to me 8”
Scleropages jardini owned 4 but none now
Neoceratodus forsteri one about 36” -38”

and fresh/brackish
Hypseleotris compressa 8 at present in freshwater

I've never had barramundi or Scleropages leichhardii in case you are wondering

God thats cool. I haven't seen any Australian Lungfish even though I live in Australia. Must of been a headache to try and get one especially being in North America. Is he currently in your monster 15000 or 50000? If they're even still up and running after 20 years?
And one of my top 5 Maccullochella peelii, Murray Cod, I have one at the moment and he's about 1.5 inches, very small. sorry to hear he's having swimm bladder problems. Do you think he'll make it? I'd love to see you grow one out. I think if i'm not mistaken the biggest ever caught was 183 cm and 250lb, but was estimated over 120 years old. Dunno if I could stand the wait.

To add a post sript. I saw this site in the past but the location threw me. I assumed it was in the middle east someware and with the billions of humans on the planet it was possible for two to have so many similarities. Then I discovered that the location is in outerspace.
Hello Don good to hear from you. Sorry I did not notice this post earlier.

Yes I live do live in space. I moved here actually before the mini planet was discovered in 2002.

Hope your well Arapaimag.
I've seen a couple Gar fish in my LFS and wondered if you had any experience with them? These were Spotted and Florida Gars. I'd love an Alligator Gar but not sure of the legalities in the UK.

Not a huge amount of Gar experience.

I've owned two Lepisosteus oculatus received in 2001 and both are living in the 15k. A slow grower for me however both grew about 8cm over the past year and a half..

#1 Received at 12.7 cm and presently about 43 cm (may 2013) estimated in dec 2011 at 35 cm.
#2 Received at 28 cm and also presently about 43 cm (may 2013) estimated in dec 2011 at 35 cm.

I might get an actual measurement by catching them in July.

Mine are peaceful and eat pellets, mackerel, herring, smelts, shrimp etc.

Wait, did I understand this right that you are Friends with Heiko Bleher?
Yes, although I do not see him often because of his incredible schedule of traveling, writing, lecturing, living in Italy and being a husband and father.
Heiko Bleher is one of the most amazing people I have ever been fortunate enough to met.

Knowledge, Intelligence and his willingness to help others rank very high in this man.

I first met him and became friends in the 1980's and have continued a long distance friendship ever since. I can remember Heiko continuing a talk he had started earlier in the day at an American Cichlid Association convention (1989 in Florida) with me and about 200 others till 3 am the next morning. I do still meet him occasionally at ACA's (most recent 2006 Chicago), A lecture at the atrium of the Toronto Zoo (2008) and a CAOAC convention held in London Ontario in 2009. Pictures of Heiko, myself and one of my Arapaima can be seen on page 886 of Bleher's Discus Volume 2 taken at that convention. Another friend pictured on that page is the late Rolf Hagen who with his and my friend Peter Merrill (Not pictured but the founder of PJ's pet shops, Super Pets and multiple other chains of pet shops) spent many hours over the years entertaining me with their funny stories.

Both tanks are still up and running.

The aussie Lungfish is considered by me and many other people as the holy grail of fishkeeping.

My friend and MFK founder Li Chih brought in quite a few in 2006 and gave me mine when I visited his house while attending the 2006 Catfish Conference in Maryland. Several hobbyists including Egon and Simon L have them on this site. They appear to be fairly easy to obtain now that they are being made available from the breeding farm in Australia. I keep it in a 560g/2120l but might move him to a section of the 15,000g/56,780l if I can divide it safely, and give it about a 10x10ft/305cmx305cm area.

My Murray cod arrived with the bladder problem more than a year ago. He seems stunted but healthy even with the problem

Wow I can't believe your mega tanks are still running! What sort of major problems have you ran into in the last 10 years?
I love lungifsh, they're the epitome of fishkeeping and I hope to own 1 one day soon. How are you planning to divide the 15000?
