Wow, what an awesome grouping of fish. You can really get an idea of how beefy the dorado is when looking at him compared to the tigers in the last couple of shots.
So the odoe didn't seem to appreciate the extra current, huh? I wonder if that's across the board for odoe in general, or just because the ones you've had weren't used to it in their tank specifically?
Thanks Paul..... I just hope a day comes when everyone is grown out enough to try most of them in the same tank.....
Most of the Odoe I've kept prefer calmer waters. I'm sure they are fine with "some" current, but "some" and what the Tigers seem to enjoy is totally different.
Both the 6x3s that are tied together on this system each use a Dart for a return pump, so they are no stranger to a little current, but the Tigers tank also has a pair of Korilia model 8s. After firing one of them up the Odoe got a little sketchy. After the 2nd one it was clear they didn't much care for it. I'm guessing they would have adjusted eventually, but honestly after seeing the Tatf and Robert and Odoe in the same tank it was pretty clear that the Tigers need to be grown out a bit more before I really feel comfy mixing them with the larger, much wider mouthed fish.
The Tigers do seem much happier in a 6' long tank then a 4' long one though......
Hopefully now Robert will start picking up size again. It seemed when I mixed him with the Masheer he quit putting on size. Maybe the constant running of the Masheer kept him from picking up weight? Hopefully he starts packing on the pounds again, hell Mr Paulson has almost lost his Titch bits.....
He's going to need to get going on that chest expansion program if he's going to fare well amongst the Wolves and other Dorado in the big boy tank.
