You guys are missing the boat on Steroids and its use. The additional strength is minimal. It is the ability to train hard every day for 12 weeks having your body heal at record speed. It is recovery enhancing more than it ever gives strength.

Drew

How is being able to train hard/more often not equate to more strength? I'm missing the lack of connection

Seems to me that the consensus here is that if you take steroids you get stronger... While I am against their use in professional sports for purity reasons taking steroids won't just instantly make you faster or stronger. It is your ability to train longer and harder. As well as recover quicker allowing you to train again at a higher level. If the cheaters in professional sports take them properly they will be out of their system by the time of competition. My ultimate point is during the fight they are not stronger because they have steroids in their system. It is because they were able to train harder before the fight.

Drew

Yes, im not mistaken about how steroid works

In your system or not, your body took a leap with increased work outs/training and less recovery time resulting in better strength and conditioning plus more training in whatever sport youre targetting. So my question is how long have you gained an unfair advantage?

Getting caught a couple months ago and fighting because its out of your system is unfair to me

I don't know what you're reading. no one said those things you said they were saying

there are different types of steroids. and they do increase your strength and muscle mass to an extent. anything after that extent is the result of the training you referred to.

I think when someone says steroids = stronger or faster, they are skipping the part where the user is able to train harder for longer amounts of time and recover faster because, well, it's obvious isn't it? who uses steroids and just sits on the couch all day? of course they get stronger because they are getting help. they are able to bust their ass and therefore get stronger and faster and gain more muscle mass

steroid use and the increase of speed/strength/mass goes hand in hand

if someone got caught a couple of months before their fight, the fight won't happen. they get fined and suspended for a year min depending on their history. and before they can return they gotta go thru the athletic commission which has other procedures I don't care to get into

she was busted in late 2011. her next fight wasn't until about mid 2013

if she can make weight the ufc should sign her as soon as they can. they can give her a debut if they want to introduce her to the masses on the big stage first, and then a title fight or an immediate title fight. i'd be fine with either

she has a fight coming up this year, not sure when exactly. but after that, if she is serious about it, she should immediately make preparations to drop down. get with a nutritionist and a doctor and come up with a game plan. within, I don't know, 4-6 months she may be able to have a fight in invicta at 135. once she has proven and done with that and assuming she's victorious the ufc should pick her up right away. I can see this fight happening second half of next year

she's only fought in mma twice since being busted

and the fight she has coming up isn't mma. I just remembered it's a kickboxing match that will take place late march. which will be her second.

Dana has already said this fight isn't happening. but I take everything he says with a grain of salt. I truly believe he'd be nervous for his cash cow. and I also believe rousey is afraid of her. not that she won't fight her but I feel she is a little scared to fight her. I don't blame her

Thank you, much needed blanks filled in for me.

I also agree with your time frame and assement of dana's situation. Unlike krich, I dont think cyborg has the same marketability as rousey. She's Reebok, Rousey is Nike

I just hope the fight happens before Ronda goes Hollywood

in light of this ^ vitor decides to pull out of the Weidman fight. replaced by Machida

wow,.....

That's crazy; pretty weak on Vitors part. He said before that he would be willing to fight for the title without TRT. From what I've read now, Brazil will be banning TRT as well. Is Vitor going to retire? As a Vitor fan, that's pretty disappointing it makes him look weak and unconfident.
On the other hand, I really like the Machida vs Weidman matchup. It's a tough fight to call, but I'll be pulling for Machida.

Edit: It looks like we jumped the gun a bit with Vitor. He released this statement:

"I never gave up fighting in UFC 173 and never mentioned it. Therefore, all information posted in any mass media advertising that is not true.

What I announced was that I will be resigning "TRT" and not "giving up the fight" to continue my dream of fighting.

The UFC decided to put another opponent in my place because I didn't have time to fit the new rules of the NSAC. According to the UFC, I will face the winner of Weidman vs Lyotto within the new regulations of all the Athletic Commissions.

I'm sorry that this happened, and I appreciate the strength and understanding of all fans, sponsors, UFC and athletic commissions ".
