How do I make my flowerhorns kok bigger?

A local guy have me a free flowerhorn cichlid due to his tank having a leak. It's about 7-8 inches by himself in my 55 gallon tank. How do I make is lol bigger? He has so much potential into becoming a beautiful fish. Please let me know thanks!!

Well to make his lol bigger as you stated in your post you must crack a lot of jokes watch funny movies and teach him to pull pranks and then he will lol or laugh out loud to his full potential haha just kidding man.on a serious note to make his kok bigger All you need is clean water remember clear water isn't always clean water, the right foods high in protein and such also a variety, don't over feed and provide a mirror to the side of the tank for like 2-3 minutes a day and you should be fine also a female on the other side of a divided tank will work too.

Its limited by genetics and the kok will only grow to what the genetics allow it to. So nothing you can really do except good water quality, quality food (none of that hump head crap or hormone packed foods), and stable temp. Your fh will surly grow to its full potential if taken care of but remember its all about the genetics, it has to be there.

Also make sure you put timers on your lights for day and night for periods of rest this will help with optimal growth not just for the kok but for him as well if he isn't already you will notice stress level drop as well
