I would just focus on getting 180gal instead of 100gal regardless of how good deal it is.

Even if he doesn't buy a 180 now they'll eventually end up in one when he switches his stock around

I don't know why you're still so focus on 100gal. Montelboom already pointed out what you've seemed to have missed from my earlier post: 100gal PLUS

Anyway, even if I do end up picking up a modest 100gal: 1) buy me plenty of time to complete my large CA tank project 2) the 100gal won't go bad or become obsolete, it'll get used for something else.

Once again I would like to reiterate, I would only buy a 100gal if I get it for a great deal, but it is not my prime choice.

I think its a good plan, what were you thinking about putting in the tank when you get everything set up?

Crappie, yellow perch, and bullheads......and white perch if I can get one up here in NH

I would just focus on 180gal and pass on 100gal deals. It doesn't makes any sense to buy a 100gal since it is not a final home for a smallmouth bass.

Once the smb grows out of it, the 100gal when go to the betta

....this thread derailed so hard hahaha. I dunno, I buy good deal tanks no matter the size, can always find a use or sell them for a profit if its a real good deal haha.

I am growing out a little 2" pumpkinseed right now haha, hes a mean little guy, chases the bluegill I have him in with all over the place. I can't wait to set up a big native tank as well, bullheads, pumpkinseed, bluegill. Good luck man! I've heard smbs are awesome to keep

I know! Just wanted to share a father and son moment and you have the know-it-alls spewing their BS, unasked for wisdom.....I may have only joined MFK a year ago but I'm not a noob

Nice fish and its great you have memories to go with them. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to go fishing. I tired this year and it held there interest for about 30 seconds. I will try again next year lol.

LOL yea, those fish gotta keep on coming to hold their wee attention span. I take an old 5gal plastic aquarium with us when we go fishing and will hold some of the fish in there for a little while before releasing back.
