As a tank manufacturer with 40+ years experience building tanks in the UK I would have to agree with the many members who doubt the figures shown in the opening posts. As an example, and as already commented upon, to suggest using 12mm glass on a 96in x 36in(high) x 24in tank is really misleading. The minimum glass thickness I would recommend for this size is 15mm, with a double thickness base (2 x 12mm sheets).
