Thanks...I have had him exactly a year and he has grown approx 8 inches...first pic he was about an inch and a half ...to about 9 to 91/2 inch now...Duanes had given that as an expected growth in a year...

I would class these as the gold variant. No red in these, sometimes the female has orange in the gill plates, especially when spawning.
