I don't personally like them, but I don't care they were bred like they are.

People that really hate these fish must just lose themselves with fury over dog breeds. Pugs, bulldogs, etc. I like my fish pets, and spend a lot of money of them, but I feel much more strongly about my dog! If a deformed fish inspires such passion I can't imagine what these horrible deformed wolves make people feel.

One could argue a bit about evolution in that statement, and the reason why I will never have anything more than a fish or a cat is because my dog was actually part of the family. My pure bred Lab was more than a deformed wolf. I realise you are speaking a bit jokingly but,,,,

divemaster99 i feel the same way I don't even want man made hybrids either.

But its okay to have deformed purebred species? Especially the long finned and shortbodied types. Many purebred species were bred via artificial insemination and I think its obviously that majority of BP were bred via natural breeding.

I don't like them.I don't like any hybrid fish.My reason is I like biotopes I'm a bit of a purist. I think there are to many hybrids around.If I buy a juvenile trimac I want it to be a trimac,not a flowerhorn.
If i buy some juvenile veija I want to be sure that's what they are and not suspect they could be something else. There are quite a few species that are hard to Id with confidence due to the amount of hybrids in the hobby.
As for it being cruel to create these physically altered fish,Yes I would say it probably is.There is a market for them so it won't stop anytime soon.
At the end of the day you could argue that keeping any fish in a glass tank is cruel and really, it probably is.That won't change either.
I don't like hybrids so I just don't buy them.
As I write this I wonder is a blood parrot happier in a 4 foot tank than say a dovii in a 6 foot?
Cruel hybrid or not,I think it probably is.

Not a lot, ironically

I like most dog breeds, but as far as long fin Oscars,Bichir, and Tuti Frutie frogs, dyed fish I personally wouldn't have in my aquarium. If my wife wanted a BP then I would break the oath.

Its called a hypocrisy. Many dog breeds came with health issues and risks and they're most deformed critters than any domestic animals. Heck there's some breeds that cannot giving birth naturally or mating naturally.
