I think you are right and this is a baby pattern.

The max size is listed at ~10" SL or ~1' TL but I've never seen one bigger than 6" TL. It's not a fast growing fish. I'd guess it will take roughy a year to go from 2" to 4".
I did some digging up of whatever I could find on Google before buying and someone claimed to have an 8" one but that's it's growth seemed nonexistent if there was any, of course no pictures though. And I figured if not that then there must be different variants in different localities or just 2 different species altogether. A year huh? Must be like loaches growth lol.

Okay....so moe214 moe214 .....ur jag got me and I just ordered it from aquascapeonline. So looking forward to it.

Got one catfish left on my wish list (Wallace's shoe head catfish) then I'm done with catfish.
He was swimming around earlier, maybe he'll be outgoing cause he definitely decided that spot as his hiding spot. I'll see if he'll eat later when I get home, probably not though. Post pics when you get it in

I find statements like these to be an utterly uncalled for "unnecessary roughness" in my favorite forum. An eye sore, really ;)

Catfish rule.

YMMV. Besides, I've never raised one, only scavenged 4-5 trade-ins at various LFSs through the years. Not much value to my words except a general impression.

An outgoing jaguar by Merriam-Webster definitions is one a keeper catches a fleeting glimpse of at least once a month or at least 9 times any given year, barring the keepers suffering from bouts of intense wishful thinking, hallucinations, or other known psychiatric maladies... Unless they do this, of course...

Yea, I've been paid a visit by a muse today...

I think I read somewhere on a thread they slow down at 5 or 6 inches, can't remember really. And I'd like to have some wishful thinking that I'll see him more than that lol, otherwise it'll just be a treat when he shows his beauty :) as long as he's happy and healthy it doesn't really matter, I still got my curu to look at right above this tank ;)

What are you currently feeding yours moe214? I just got two last friday and have only been able to get one to eat. The more active and less shy of the two still hasnt eaten yet. She comes out to explore a couple times a day, before going back to one of two of her favorite spots (both in plain view too)

I made another thread, he last two nights after having him. I believe it was another fish that caused his death.

Rapps had jaguars and bufonius available almost pulled the trigger. Does yours venture out of his hides much ?

I posted another thread cause it passed shortly after, I don't feel ready to give it another try, but the two days I had it, it did hide as everyone said it would, but it is a beautiful cat, I'd recommend it if you can deal and view it as an occasional treat to see the cat, otherwise it'll probably get boring very fast.
