What is this ? Anchor worm ?

Got the fish a couple of days ago and noticed this immediately. Thought it was just sand or something stuck to the fish. I always treat with parasite gaurd while in qt but it hasnt gone away.

Could it be an anchor worm ? Fish is WC



If its anchor worms how do i treat.

Could be bichir worms. Happens on wc polys. Get some jungle labs parasite clear. See what the pros say. Good luck jaws.

lufenuron is the medication of choice but you need to get it from a vet.
I know Tetra parasite guard will cover anchor worms. Also in a recent post someone mentioned another med that will actually get them as well but I can't find it.

You can also manually remove them with tweezers for better identification and to cut down their numbers a bit before treatment.

I can't see anchor worm from the pic or vids, if it does end up being it; another route is sodium chlorite. This WILL kill your BB colony though, so a separate tank is needed. Another option is to bathe in salt, after manually removing worms.

Putting him in qt was a very good choice!
