Heros severus aka "Red Tiger Severum" aka "Rio Curare" from Wetspot?

I don't think incorrect bars necessarily means hybrids. I could be totally off but it's not uncommon for clown loaches and indo dats to have odd bars?
I'll try to get some pics tonight. I was able to get 4 of them. 1 has the odd bar like Judy's. I've had them since early April and 3 are thriving. 1 was much smaller and even after a course of metro wouldn't eat well and passed.
I dont think that the barring in the above fish is an anomaly. Within my group of 6 fish only 2 exhibited the half seventh bar on both sides. Interestingly enough, the rest of the fish had a half fifth bar. I also wanted to mention that before the ich outbreak I was having a heck of a time getting the fish to eat and ended up going through two treatments of metro before they began to eat readily. They did fine for about a week or two before they showed signs of ich.
So my question is, how are these severus if one of the diagnostic features of the species is the half seventh bar, and a large percentage of them do not show it properly? You can expect a small percentage of anomalies in a batch of F1 fish, but some people got 2 in 6 that were correct. Some people got 1 in 6. That doesn't make sense.
Hmmm I didn't know so many had fish with odd bars. I wonder who the breeder is of this batch Wetspot is selling. By the way this ich is an incredibly resistent strain. I know it takes a good 2 or 3 weeks to rid the tank of it, but usually after 10 days of treatment the spots become noticeably less or gone all together, not so for me. There's less spots, but not a dramitic reduction yet.
There is a reason I referred to it as an ich epidemic… I battled with it for 3 weeks. First week was temp increase, salt and siphoning off the bottom- no sign of improvement. I gave the fish a day or two and started a Kordon rid ich treatment- ended up losing some fish here. Third week, another rid ich treatment and lost a couple more fish at the beginning of the week but by the end it was mostly cleared up. Unfortunately I only had one fish left at that point but...
