Hi everyone,

I got two new additions of Amphilophus Labiatus. They are the true red devils, not Midevils or Midas. Love the lips they have in comparison. Let me know what you guys think and any experience you've had with them. Hoping to keep this thread updated as they grow.

Are the two pictures the same fish or a shot of each one? Seems to be just the one you took pictures of due to the same fraying of the dorsal fin. How long ago did you recieve them? Caused maybe from stress of shipping? I'm sure the fin will heal up fast in good water quality. Can't wait for them to become monsters, also looking forward to updates in their growth

Thanks Ehh. Not at the moment. I was actually using the manual focus on my camera rather then auto focus on my phone. As you can imagine it was quite difficult. Majority of the shots came out poorly, but I have been practicing so I'm hoping to get a decent shot of the tank when I get the opportunity after work. Will keep you posted.

I am looking forward to future posts
Me too Dan. Appreciate the interest.

Yes. The two pictures here are of the same fish. I took the pictures only around an hour after adopting them in so didn't want to stress them too much. I received them Friday from a very reputable LFS in my area. I know the manager very well and he only sells top quality fish. Leads me to the conclusion that it was a result from the stress of transport. I did notice the slight fraying though, but it's already improved. Completely agree. It's so exciting! :p

Here's a few more pics I managed to catch of the Red Devils. As you can see from the photos, one is a pale red compared to the other which is more of a deep red/orange.

Every picture I take of my fish is done with manual focus on my iPhone. I think it's harder to take pictures with auto focus because fish are always moving. It took some practice but manual focus is the way to go.

What manual focus? lol
Well "manual" focus lol. The iPhone has a focus lock that you can kind of use like a manual focus. It shuts off the autofocus. It's way easier to take pictures that way imo.
