This is the problem with common names which fish are you referring to as "regular texas"? H.Carpintis or H.Cyanoguttatus? I've seen them both called Texas. And as for red Texas, their hybrids. So sadly sometimes they look exactly like one parent or the other. Or sometimes they look like neither parent. I've seen " Red Texas" with zero red in them.I got one just like it, was sold at pet smart as red Texas. Definitely not a red Texas or electric blue Texas, but still a good looking fish. I have found mine to grow and behave like a regular Texas
