CarpintisThis is the problem with common names which fish are you referring to as "regular texas"? H.Carpintis or H.Cyanoguttatus? I've seen them both called Texas. And as for red Texas, their hybrids. So sadly sometimes they look exactly like one parent or the other. Or sometimes they look like neither parent. I've seen " Red Texas" with zero red in them.
The color on your fish is amazing. There is a good deal of variation in caprintis.Thanks everyone! I'll have fun researching carpintis. The pics don't do this fish justice. The color is magnificent.
