How.long do you hold the swab over the wound for ?
just a few seconds. enough where I can see that the iodiine is "soaking"/covering' the wound.

Depends on what the ooze is. Thought of "ninja turtles 3, secret of the ooze" as soon as I saw that. Lol!
lol ooze is the technical term. Is Megan Fox in that one? Her radioactive deformity is her toe thumb.

Will show another pic cause I don't know what I'm talking about...

I can't say for sure if it's TB. If OP uses Sulfa and Kanaplex in tank water, and a daily betadine swab, I'm hoping that will knock it out permanently.
Thank you for your help! I a few questions about the procedure of this:

He's been a little less active today....might have had him out of the water too long yesterday. Should I let him rest or swab again? He was super active when I did a 60% water change a few days ago.

For the betadine swab:
I've been diluting detadine. Solution is still dark brown though. Is this diluted enough?
Been holding a Qtip on each wound for about 3-4 seconds until it is covered with iodine.
He might be out of the water for 1-2 mins depending on how squirmy he is. I'd like to get this number down.

For the Triple sulfa and kanaplex:
Ammonia was reading 4ppm when I was doing a 25% WC every other day when I finished the first treatment of triple sulfa. pH of the tank is typically 7.6. Little worried about ammonia being over zero if I'm not doing WCs. How do I go about keeping the water clean/ammonia free with the meds still in the tank? continue doing 50%wc every day? or follow wc listed on boxes?

for the swab I mix the iodine until light brown. Swab the wound and hold out of water for about 30 second then place back in the tank.

What I do is change the water to get ammonia to 0ppm, impossible if you have ammonia out of tap due to chloramine, or close to it. Dose with Prime, add medication in 1 hour later for the amount of water changed.

thank you! Will do. Really appreciate your input. :) Since I've been doing the betadine and water changes every day the wound is starting to look better imo.

With the possibility of it being TB..... should I add bleach in the water or tear down everything and soak? Do you have any recommendations for disinfecting the original tank?P.S. I have driftwood and sand. Would a UV sterilizer kill TB for sure?

If it is TB does it get cured or lay dormant?

It can be cured but hard to do cause of the meds needed and duration. Can lay dormant.
