Looks like a nice home you have created for her.
I like the addition of the tetras, it adds more interest to the tank.

I'll likely add my L397 pleco (Sir Elton) in a few weeks when I've got a bit more wood for him to munch and hide in but that's about it. If ever the tank gets upgraded I'd like to get another L397 but that won't be for quite a while..
I don't want to add too much because River and Sir Elton still have lots of growing to do and by the time they're both full grown the tank will have a decent bio load.

I wanted a back ground but we were a bit short on cash while it was being set up and 2' tall backgrounds aren't cheap here (as far as tank backgrounds go) and Jeff refuses to paint our tanks so now it's backgroundless until it gets moved from that spot which likely won't be for a few years hahaha
Got some nice pics of her tonight so I thought I'd give an update.
She's not really put on much length in the last month or so, she's just getting thicker by the looks of it. Otherwise she seems to be doing well, there's still no aggression between her and the widows so fingers crossed it stays that way.
Her colour in the last week or two has been getting insane!!! Gosh I wish I had a better camera because my phones incapable of capturing how beautiful she's getting, her body has gotten more green and less blue (not sure if I like that) and her "silver" lines have stunning iridescent blues and greens when the light hits her, she's getting so damn pretty!

Second pic has some funny glass distortion happening, but it shows her fin colour really well for a phone pic

She has a vendetta against one of my mates, every time he goes near her tank she flares up at him and tries chasing him away. I'm thinking it might be his dark red hair she doesn't like but I'm not sure... Its funny seeing a 4" fish trying to pick a fight with a 6' man lol
Update! I was hoping to do monthly updates but life has been getting in the way so I haven't had much time to log in, but thought I'd log in and post an update since she's grown a bit and done some stuff... And I'm only a few weeks later than I'd hoped to be with it.
Firstly, her colours... Omg her colours! I wish my phone wasn't so crap so I could get pictures that actually show how pretty she is! Her seams are getting more and more iridescence as she grows and her blues and greens are really starting to pop, I should probably get off my lazy butt and get a decent camera so that when she's all grown up I can post pics that actually do her justice..
She'd be a little over 4" now, and hasn't really put on much length in the last month and half or so, she seems to be just getting thicker and taller, is this normal? If I remember right with Horrace once he hit the 5ish" mark he had "growth spurts" where he'd stop getting longer for a couple of months and get thicker, taller etc then put on more length and repeat until 11ish", so does this mean its healthy for River to do this too? I'm not even sure if it was healthy for Horrace to grow like that but he did... Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Anyways enough rambling, some pics! My phone takes terrible pictures and I'm a horrible photographer so they're not good pics but nonetheless..

She laid these last Thursday night (or ungodly o'clock Friday morning) we woke up Friday and seen them. Again we just left them in there and she sorted them out. Even with the eggs in there she showed no aggression towards the widows unless they went near the rock, her behavior with them has surprised me, if anything the tetras are more aggressive than she is for the time being. Although she still doesn't like my mate... And hated him even more while she had eggs in the tank.
So.. In the eyes of the more experienced, does she look healthy? Is her growth rate normal? Basically, is there anything we need to change/do for her?
