I think you're right, I just googled aureaus and it does look closer to what I have. Either way this is the first thorichthys I've seen locally besides normal firemouths. Do thorichthys species easily cross breed?

Yes there's alot of naturally occurring thorichthys hybrids

Supposed to be ellioti but was told it could be aureus. I have 2m/5f.

My female la ceiba, I had a really nice male that I was growing out with her but something got lodged in his throat and he died. I'm having trouble capturing her colors, but here you go.
