What's up with that ugly gravel,I wouldn't figure you for having that in any of your tanks?
got it 2nd-hand for free w/ a 65g tank a bunch of years back. I just use it cuz it's what's available to me and at the rate i move things around and break-down/set-up new tanks it's not worth it to me to fiercely decorate any tanks that aren't permanent.

Great color on that dovii. Digging the RTM too.
thank you, i think the blues are coming through more and more every day as he get bigger, Starting to get an attitude also lol

stunning braziliensis, coolest Geo in my opinion
I've only recently gotten more into Earth-eaters this past year, but I had one before that looks like my "abelios" that I currently own and I definitely think the Brasiliensis look, act and think much differently making it a lot easier to believe they should be re-classified to a new genus - yes, I agree, they are a very interesting "Geophagus" to own

What is a common name for that red/pink fish? I have both Red Devils and king Midas.
I special ordered it as a Red Devil, I lost her back in November due to a filter malfunction - she was 9.5 inches and I only had her from Christmas 2015 to Nov. 2016 - was 3" when I got her.

I had to special order because the store doesn't keep anything that gets big and aggressive in stock usually because they only have 20-40 gallon tanks.

The malfunction also cost me a 12" albino Channel cat and a 5" and 6" Synodontis eupterus. Fortunately I still have 3 more Synos, I bought a new albino Channel and "replaced" her w/ a Barred Midas (last page or 2).

I put "replaced" in quotes because she was irreplaceable, and one of my favorite fish - keeping a female Amph as tank boss has all sorts of advantages, one of which was she kept the male Jaguar in check and prevented any of the other truly nasty brutes from becoming too aggressive, all the while keeping to herself unless challenged

I've been getting my Red Devils from petsmart for 15$ each and they are doing well so far.

I wouldn't trust PetSmart to keep the Citrinellus and Labiatus bloodline separated - most employees barely know anything about cichlids save a select few. Chances are good they are Midevils unless from a reliable source and known catch location
