I'm having to make some decisions with this tank already. The male that's been getting all the photo attention has been dominating the other two GT I purchased with him. Even in the 125, he has the other two pinned to their corners while he has 90% of the tank. This has been getting worse and worse over last week or so. Finally starting to show some abuse on one of the other GTs while both are showing no color.
Really wanted to keep these guys together, but I hate to see dominance like that when I care for the other two as well. I don't know if some of you would advise me to lett them work it out? I choose to take the two sub dominate GT out. I have them divided in a 40b until I decide on permanent homes for them.
So that was that. Little 3" GT now had the 125 to himself. I really dislike this idea. I want to see the interaction with other cichlids. I decided to throw in one of my females from another tank to experiment. Knowing she's bigger I was fully prepared to have to take her right back out. But here was the reaction...
...and boy was it fun to watch. The male went on like this until I turned the lights out. This morning she has settled in and has taken more hold on her position in the tank. Going to keep an eye on these two and see what happens. I will pull her if aggression gets to rough on the male. Wish I had a beautiful female for him... she's ok
