What's in the box? It's polys!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks everyone did a 50%WC. Added more salt andanother dose of Paraguard. Delhezi has ick now.

Got out some worms. But it appears there are quite a bit. Never seen them before until today. Perhaps the Paraguard yesterday expelled them from a poly?
Here's a vid. They do kinda look like bloodworms

Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 . Parrots were not in this tank. Just the QT and heater were the same. No substrate or filter. Also the parrots were from Segrest. Lol. Just the wet spot polys and everything else was new. Unless if these worms were in my water? I did buy a Marino ball. put one jn each tank. Could they have come in on that?
Never seen worms from a poly before.

I dont know hommie, i just have a feeling it isnt callumanus but could totally be wrong.
yeah I haven't seen any worms coming out of bums. However, I have no idea. Thanks for the input either way! Looking at the links you sent now. Hopefully some people in the health section will respond

magpie magpie : yes, please eat dinner! That is sacred time.

Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 , yes it is quite bizarre. Idk where they came from!

Fingers crossed here. Any chance they're mosquito larvae? It's hard to tell because the flow from your hob filter is pushing it around. It swims like a phsyco mosquito larvae. Turn filter off to eliminate current and take video again :-)

Thanks, Sam! I wish. It doesn't look like mosquito larvae to me. IThese worms are solid color and streamline instead of having visible features.

Can try to take another video. Might have to stir up the sand though. Starting to think that they are calamanus in the gravel and water colunm instead of just coming out of the fish. because they have that blood worm look, but smaller, some thicker. Only difference is they are not as thin and lengthy as blood worms.....

They could just be harmless dietrus worm. They like to rest on the gravel. My suggestion would be to use a glass cup to scoop out. Maybe take a better close up pic for the boys/gals to ID what it may be.

Dietrus worms would be white and translucent.

Try and net one and take pics

The video so far doesn't seem to be callamanus worms. Kind of looks like a mosquito larvae. Even the movement. I think that maybe a more likely scenario than the callamanus worms. But that's just me. Will see.
