I didn't see any eitherI don't see any orange spangles on any bellies, yet. Are you SURE you have a male and a female?
Ya you can't see it in the picture but the bigger one has a bright orange stomach and yellow tinted fins, it's 100% a femaleI don't see any orange spangles on any bellies, yet. Are you SURE you have a male and a female?
Yes sir, wasn't trying to sound like a ass. IYou are correct but this is also the first pic that showed orange. Clearly a female
that cougar was in a 125g with a raging male Dovii and was untouchable so I believe it. You think if I changed the layout and put him and her in it? I don't see why not but he (Dovii)could eat them but I have a lot of rock I could set up to prevent my Dovii from reaching them. I have seen it happen before so I don't know honestly. It almost seemed like my wolf Cichlid tried breeding with my convict female. He would always flare up and display his brightest colorshave you tried neglecting them? Or throwing them into a large predatory tank as food? This always worked for me...
All kidding aside they just need more time. Just keep power feeding and it should happen given a few more weeks/months. The male is a young cub and doesn't know how to approach the seasoned cougar.
